Tobacco Sub-committee
Subcommitte News:
In accordance with state law in January 1st, 2008 smoking will be prohibited in all state- controlled buildings including campus facilities. The residence halls will have to comply with the statue in the Fall 2008.
WCU is also in the process of getting feedback from faculty, staff and students on designating up to a 100 foot non-smoking perimeter around campus buildings, as is allowed in the new state law.

Priority Objectives:
- Reduce cigarette smoking by college students.
- Reduce spit tobacco (smokeless tobacco) use by college
students.
- Reduce cigar smoking by college students.
- Reduce the proportion on nonsmokers exposed to
environmental tobacco smoke
